Why I am Running by Marie Lozito
Even as a youngster I realized that my parents were very wise people. One of the many things they taught me is that “There are no free lunches.” I am a fiscally responsible person and believe that the government needs to function within its financial resources. Taxes and fees cannot be continuously raised to pay for an ever expanding government. The New Hampshire advantage of no sales tax and no general income tax needs to be maintained. The money taken from the people to run the government needs to be used wisely and carefully.
Two of the primary functions of government are the protection of the people and the protection of the people’s rights. Individuals should be free to pursue their dreams and ambitions without government interference as long as they do not infringe upon another person’s rights.
If elected I intend to bring these values to Concord as I represent the people of the 5th Senate District.
